Marketing Your Business On The Internet – The Secret To Success
Before you put any internet marketing plan into effect to promote your network marketing opportunity, it's absolutely essential that you to understand what your target market wants. This is true of any marketing campaign, whether it's online or on the television, or a major promotion at a local mall.
When you have a network marketing business aimed at a certain target market, identifying that target market is the most important step, but it's only the first step.
Once you know to whom your marketing is targeted, where do you go from there?
In addition to getting your business and your message in front of your target market, how do you better narrow things down to appeal to those within that market who might want or need your product or service now? The key is to create a marketing campaign from the position of knowing what your customers want — and then appeal to them on that level.
So you already know your target market. Whether your target market is made up of medical professionals, stay at home moms, or professional hockey players, you have to figure out what exactly they want within those general groups in order to get to a level they'll relate to when marketing your MLM opportunity on the internet.
A medical professional, for instance, might be interested in health-related products and opportunities that solve a problem they deal with every day (such as weight loss). They'll want to offer their patients something that will help them live a long, happy life, have fun, and be healthy. They'll also want to be the hero to their patient, seen as the solution to a problem that the patient has been struggling with, possibly for decades. Pick a want and appeal to it for effective marketing campaigns.
Break down why they might want what they want. When it comes to stay at home moms, they want to be available to their children while also making a contribution. And maybe they want to be able to show their friends how much better life can be when you build your own business. Use that in your marketing! Advertise the opportunity by pointing out that it can help them build a business while still being at home with their children. Point out how it will make them feel to generate success after success and really make a difference, and point out that this can happen more quickly if the prospect works with your company.
When you're marketing your business on the internet — actually, when you market your business anywhere — think of the reasons the people in your target market might want to build their own business. Do they want to quit their job, take more vacations, spend more time with family? The best marketing strategy is to take each reason and devise a way to convince the customer that your opportunity will help them achieve it.
Let's dig into this a little more.
I'm involved with a network marketing company that focuses on one thing and one thing only: building stronger relationships. Whether it's relationships with family members, friends, acquaintances, business associates — it doesn't matter. The important thing is using the product to reach out and let other people know you care about them.
Based on that description, it seems that my target market is “everyone,” right? Well, it's true that everyone can benefit from using this product, but I focus on one specific market: small business owners.
Why?
Because I can focus on the problems faced by small business owners and target all of my messaging toward their needs specifically. With businesses, most of the problems they face boil down to the need to increase profit. And I can show them how to use this product to improve their bottom line.
How does that work?
Well, there are basically 3 ways to increase profit in a business (without cutting needed expenses):
- Increase the number of leads (more opportunities to make a sale)
- Increase the number of customers (more leads who make a purchase)
- Increase the amount spent by each customer (larger sales and/or more frequent purchases)
With our system, small business owners can increase all 3. They have access to strategies for getting more leads in their sales pipeline. They get simple tactics to follow up with leads so that more people make a purchase. And the follow-up doesn't stop there! They also find out how to keep in touch with customers in such a way that repeat purchases become the norm.
As you might imagine, it's much easier to create content that appeals to this group than it would be to create content for the whole world. They have questions, the marketing messages can provide answers. They have problems, the content can provide solutions.
Invest some time crafting messages that speak directly to the needs of those in your target market. It will make all the difference in the world.
